Sooooooo close! Exclusive interview with KBF NC Day One Leader Tim Perkins  prior to $100k presentation at 2018 KBF championship

By Mike Pehanich

Alabama angler Tim Perkins was the Day One leader at the 2018 KBF National Championship on Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley March 23-24. What do decisions and lost fish mean to a leading contender when Torqeedo’s $100,000 winner’s check is on the line? Hear what Perkins had to say in this Small Waters Fishinginterview minutes before KBF founder Chad Hoover announced the winner.

Perkins, who ended up in third place with $24,800 in tournament winnings and Bonus Bucks awards, also discusses the role that the 1 HP Torqeedo Ultralight 403 lithium battery-powered motor played in his success in a field of 752 anglers vying for kayak bass fishing fame and the largest winner’s purse in kayak bass fishing history.

Lost…never to be forgotten! Tim Perkins lost control of a 19-inch fish while preparing for photo confirmation. The lost fish cut his Day One-leading total by three inches and likely cost him a victory and $100,000 check from title sponsor Torqeedo at the 2018 KBF National Championship in Paris, TN.
